    Art. 1
    Se instituie ordinul si medalia "Meritul Militar", care se va conferi militarilor pentru vechime in serviciul Fortelor Armate ale Republicii Populare Romane sau al Ministerului Afacerilor Interne.
    Art. 2
    Ordinul "Meritul Militar" are urmatoarele clase, in ordinea lor ierarhica:
    -clasa I.
    -clasa a II-a.
    -clasa a III-a. Medalia "Meritul Militar" are doua clase:
    -clasa I.
     clasa a II a.
